About

Hi! I’m Kristin Ferro, a native Atlantan, artist, and photographer with a background in Art Education.

By documenting scenes as observed from daily life, I aim to highlight the beauty of mundane objects as they relate to their environment in an authentic and narrative-driven way.

My husband is the Brazilian artist Yoyo Ferro whose work you can see all over Atlanta and beyond.

We love exploring, meeting people, and documenting the changing day to day views as we create new work and opportunities.

Visit our Instagram feeds: @kristin.ferro + @yoyoferro.

Obrigada!

The helipad, what a view! This is looking north from the rooftop at 222 Mitchell Street in @southdwntn, but the view in every direction from here is stunning. This is the last of the series from the former C&S Bank office building that I’m
The view of Miss Freedom on top of the Georgia State Capitol from the roof of 222 Mitchell Street in @southdwntn. Of all the beautifully proportioned female sculptures I’ve seen and studied, this one seems to have fallen into the, “good e
A closer look at the details of the freight elevator on top of the helipad at 222 Mitchell Street in @southdwntn. The buttons say “IN USE” or “CAR CALL” for the helicopter secure money deposit directly town to the vault on the
This small freight elevator is located on the rooftop helipad at 222 Mitchell Street in @southdwntn. It’s purpose was for secure money deposits from a helicopter directly down to the Citizens & Southern Bank vault on the ground floor in thi
One of my favorites - a couple of exhaust pipes from the rooftop helipad at 222 Mitchell Street for @southdwntn, previously a C&S Bank office building. PS. I just now Googled what these are called, are they vents? I was more concerned with their
The telephone receivers that I shot in @southdwntn were some of my favorite subjects. Not only does this plastic coil-corded object take us back to the 1900’s, it also acts as a simple symbol representing the importance of two-way communication
Atlanta’s dreary today - it’s got the same energy as this photo... but do you see what I see here? I’ve tagged the photo to be sure. From the top floor at 222 Mitchell Street for @southdwntn, previously a C&S Bank office buildin
This is the door to the mechanical room located on the rooftop of 222 Mitchell Street. It has a ridiculously good view of @southdwntn.
This ladder goes up to the roof of the mechanical room, but all I see is a pool ladder. From the rooftop of 222 Mitchell Street for @southdwntn, previously a C&S Bank office building.
Lots of respect for the electricians who keep us running. From inside the electrical room on the rooftop at 222 Mitchell Street for @southdwntn, previously a C&S Bank Office Building.
I like this wonky composition of textures and this image always makes me think of @ainsrob. You can see these up on the top of 222 Mitchell Street below the helipad in @southdwntn at the previous C&S Bank Office Building.
More OPEN | CLOSE text goodness - these buttons look especially satisfying to push, and I’m always here for simple geometric forms. Found behind the reception desk in the main lobby of 222 Mitchell Street for @southdwntn, previously a C&S B
The view from the window in the center is of the gold-domed Georgia State Capitol that I recently shared, and this space inside is amazing. From upstairs at 222 Mitchell Street for @southdwntn Atlanta, the old C&S Bank office building.
I’m assuming this is a security alert system - does your job have this for you? While I was teaching I had to use my call button for medical emergencies or fights, but it was mostly flipped by students on their way out the class! This interesti
I love it when windows frame the view as though you’re looking at a composed artwork* on the wall. These windows face east, so I’d imagine they witness some pretty epic sunrises from 222 Mitchell Street in @southdwntn.

... but printed on metallic paper. Anyone know what the blue dots are for? I really like the keys paper-clipped together. From inside the vault at 222 Mitchell Street in @southdwntn.
These hinges and number plates though... the coolest repurposed bank vaults that I’ve seen are the Vitamin Vault in Chicago’s Fancy Walgreens and @torel1884 + @bartolomeu_bistro’s wine tasting room. What are some others you’ve
The Vault. Such an intriguing space - these were literal shots in the dark, but I do owe thanks to Anthony from JLL who helped guide me with his cell phone flashlight! Squatters lived in here after the bank left it vacant, and the array of keys, door
Anybody know whether the neon in this drive-through banking sign was all white or green, red, yellow? Would love to see it lit back up in all it’s glory again! From the old C&S Bank at 222 Mitchell Street in @southdwntn.
The enormous building located at 222 Mitchell Street in @southdwntn was formerly a C&S Bank Building, and occupies the entire city block. A handful of people I know have memories from inside this building, but most talk about the helipad on top w
